Having been introduced to chiropractic care through his father, Dr. Carl Mashike, and his uncle, Dr. David Mashike, Dr. Adam always knew he wanted to become a Chiropractor. He attended Life University in Georgia and graduated with his Doctorate in 1997. Dr. Adam immediately went to work with his father after graduation, and worked side-by-side until Dr. Carl’s retirement in 2008. Dr. Adam has been carrying on the family business ever since.
Over his 21 years in practice, Dr. Adam noticed a great deal of changes in the overall health of his patients and community. Experiencing a growing complaint of inflammatory caused illnesses, Dr. Adam decided to venture into nutrition and became certified in Functional Medicine in early 2020. He is now able to analyze an extensive blood panel to determine deficiencies and toxicities in the body, and develop a nutritional and supplemental plan to help correct many internal issues his patients may be facing.
Dr. Adam is a dedicated doctor and family man. Daily, you will be greeted by his mother, Rachel, who works as the office manager. His wife, Emily, is equally dedicated to serving the community, teaching locally at Ivywood Academy. Together, Emily and Dr. Adam share 5 beautiful children who can often be found visiting the office for an adjustment or stopping by after school for a visit. Many of our patients have been with us for well over 15 years. Some patients have even been with Dr. Adam for all of his 24 years in practice.
Dr. Adam treats patients as young as 1 day old. After comparing muscle tone and doing a posture analysis, Dr. Adam uses gentle finger placement and the baby’s movement to perform pain-free, safe adjustments. Frequently, our younger patients visit to address issues such as ear infections, fevers, constipation, congestion, colic, and bed wetting. Treating a child at a young age establishes a strong immune system and a body that communicates well.
Having been trained by Dr. Webster himself, Dr. Adam is well versed in the Webster’s Breach Turning Technique. This technique is known for helping the baby move into the proper position in the final weeks of pregnancy. Our pregnant patients find our Thompson Table very comfortable as it can separate and provide a supported place for a growing belly to rest during adjustments. Maternity patients report relief in lower back pain, sciatic nerve impingement, and overall discomfort both before and after labor and delivery.
While Dr. Adam recommends an active lifestyle for all patients, it is known that high intensity sports can cause distress to the body. From wrestlers and football players, to marathon runners and swimmers, Dr. Adam has treated many patients with sports-related injuries. Utilizing chiropractic adjustments, corrective care, Kinesio taping, and stretches, athletes have found great success in healing sports related injuries. Braces and supports can be ordered when necessary.
Any kind of accident can be traumatic, both physically and emotionally. Patients can rest assured that the care given after such incidences will be delivered with sensitivity and understanding. The goal is to return back to 100% mobility, but this can take time. Having experienced great crashes in his own life as a professional motorcycle racer, Dr. Adam understands your pain and will work with you toward optimum health and healing. *We do not accept insurance for auto injuries.
Life takes a toll on the body. Whether just for stiff joints, old injuries, or even new issues such as a fall or surgery, chiropractic care can help the body move and function with ease. Ensuring that the spine is aligned properly is one of the best ways to prevent bones and joints from aging and degenerating. For those in need, Dr. Adam has the ability to move his table vertically to help patients get on and off the table without bending.
We love our healthy patients! As a life rule, chiropractic care should be utilized when you are healthy so that the body can operate at full capacity when it does get sick. Routine maintenance is highly beneficial for preventing long-term issues, as well as addressing the day-to-day issues of headaches and migraines, neck and back pain, and overall stiffness caused by the stresses of life.
We look forward to seeing you in our office!
